For many small service businesses it removes the daily need for it, because the tax position and job costs are already there. If you need full general-ledger accounting, payroll and bank reconciliation, keep QuickBooks — and hand it clean, organized records.
Will my accountant be happy with this?
Generally yes, because the alternative they usually receive is a bag of receipts. Categorized expenses with the original scans attached is a better starting point than a shoebox.
Why not just add job costing to QuickBooks?
